  • CornerJob Fires Up Its Blue-Collar Jobs Marketplace App With $10M Series A round of funding. This is a Euro based startup where recruiters and pre-selected job seekers chat via the CornerJob messaging interface to determine suitability for interview. Unsuccessful job seekers are at least told within 24 hours whether they have been pre-selected for a role for which they have applied. [via techCrunch]
  • Woo, a San Francisco, CA and Tel Aviv, Israel-based newly launched platform that allows tech talent to measure their market value, raised $2.35m in seed funding. [read article]
  • CareerBuilder reboots itself into software as a service. Monster could learn a few lessons from them. [via Forbes]
  • Hirely aims to help small biz hire better. This is another one of those hourly job sites looking to gain traction in the small business market. [read article]
  • Poached Jobs, a Portland, Ore.-based job board and hiring platform for bars and restaurants, has raised $2.25 million in funding, roughly two-thirds of a planned offering amount of $3.3 million. [via Geekwire]

  • Zyn Careers is a new startup that specializes in identifying cultural fit. [read article]
  • StartWire, a job search organizer, today announced significant adoption of its advanced Application Tracking Engine. This first-of-its-kind technology is now used to track applications at more than 13,000 companies, representing over 200,000 individual job seeker applications. As a result, those candidates can avoid the application black hole typically encountered and gain insight into the status of their applications. [read article]
  • Randstad Holding nv invested in gamification career search platform Pymetrics through its Randstad Innovation Fund. The platform uses big data, neuro-science and gamification to help jobseekers with personal career and job recommendations. [read more]
  • UK job board alert: New site for flex jobs in the UK has launched [visit site]
  • Handshake’s software powers a branded recruiting portal that allows students to upload their coursework, resumes, transcripts, and other documents. Students can search and apply for jobs, message recruiters, and access event listings. As a website, Handshake looks like a version of Facebook made for job searching, with a single feed that shows personalized recommendations of jobs, content, and events for each student. Students can follow certain employers to make sure they receive any updates, events, or other content from them. [via Fortune]
  • Hired, the jobs marketplace for techies that was formerly known as DeveloperAuction, has raised a fresh $40 million funding led by Lumia Capital. This takes the startup’s funding past the $70 million mark.
