4 Coding Jokes for Emailing Developers

Tom Ordonez spent most nights in computer labs understanding the meaning of life. He’s Worked in software and hardware projects. He’s Worked with startups and learned that life was not only about writing code. He’s a fan of coding and growth hacking. Since mid 2016 he’s been working for Sears Holdings as a Talent Sourcer to grow teams with technical leaders.

You’ll be able to see Tom speak at the upcoming SourceCon conference in Austin in September. But I spoke to him recently and the first year techie turned recruiter uses his technical background to his advantage when emailing candidates. He frequently uses developer jokes in his subject lines to get their attention.

– Why is Oct 31 == Dec 25?
– Why would Harry Potter speak Python?
– SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0
– Why does HTML think “chucknorris” is a color?

You can connect with Tom on Linkedin here. He became a Sourcer because he wanted to do something new after working with startups and other tech projects.
