Texting Healthcare Candidates Before They Apply: The SMS vs Email Data

This post was originally published on this site.

Texting healthcare candidates before they apply is 8.6 times more effective at engaging them than email. Across Dalia’s healthcare clients over a 30-day window, 250,000 emails produced a click-through rate of four and a half to 5%. 100,000 text messages produced 39,000 clicks, a 39% click-through rate, from less than half the volume sent.

This lunch and learn breaks down the formula behind those numbers and what it means for healthcare talent acquisition teams competing for nurses, imaging techs, respiratory therapists and allied health roles.

Timing matters more than most teams assume. Leads engaged in real time convert at roughly 50%. The same jobseeker type contacted two to four months later drops to 5 to 7%. Cold database reactivation is not the play.

The job title breakdown is where it gets specific. Nurse practitioner, imaging, lab tech and nursing leadership all show close to 60% engagement on SMS, and these are among the hardest roles to fill. CRNAs show 31 times greater engagement on text than email, with email engagement effectively at zero.

The four pillars of jobseeker conversion
– Mobile-centric, because that is where jobseekers already are
– Speed, meaning real-time engagement, automation and daily frequency
– Curated experiences, which go beyond personalization to expanded job matching by interest and qualification
– Cost effectiveness, meaning 100% performance-based campaigns that only charge on completed applications

The session closes with source comparison data showing candidates from text nurturing campaigns convert two to four percentage points higher on apply-to-hire than every other source.
