But it’s often these differences that make them worth a million bucks each and deliver an ROI of 500%.

For background, we’re now working with the CFO Leadership Council figuring out how to calculate the financial impact of hiring A-players who are non-revenue generating staff professionals. In one of our models, shown in the graphic, it turns out that for every $100,000 in base salary, hiring an A-player—someone in the top 25% of their peer group—can result in a $600,000 to $700,000 net pre-tax
