Indeed Pledges 3,000 New Jobs in Austin

Google Jobs Who?

If expansion plans are any indication, Indeed doesn’t seem to worried about the future. The #1 Jobs site is now doubling down on staff in Austin, TX one of their “founding cities”. A press release from today announced plans “that includes the creation of as many as 3,000 new jobs over the next several years”.

“We are committed to growing in Austin, a city that is a proven tech hub with excellent access to talent and a community that encourages innovation,” said Indeed President Chris Hyams. “As one of Indeed’s founding cities, it has been a great place to grow our organization over the past 13 years as we’ve helped millions of job seekers find new opportunities.”

It appears their plans to take on the Google’s and Facebook Jobs of the world will be done with an army of ‘Indeedians’ spread across the world in nearly every major city. The company was founded in Austin and Stamford, CT in 2004.

Today, there are more than 1,600 employees in Austin, and Indeed has over 6,100 employees in 27 offices around the world.

The Austin offices serve as a global technical hub for the company with a high concentration of engineering and product teams. Plans call for future hiring that will be spread across all functions.
