H&M Adds Benefits for Part-timers

It appears retailers are upping their game when it comes to recruiting and retention. H & M, Hennes and Mauritz Inc., one of the world’s largest fashion retailers is rolling out several new benefits to its part time employees by the end of 2019.  The company wants to create a positive impact and further ensure that H&M puts its employees first, aligning with their strong belief in people.

Several key changes will be made to the part time employee benefit program beginning 2019, offering opportunities for H&M employees that will put a focus on both their professional and personal needs.

  • One of the most exciting changes is a weekly schedule commitment with options ranging up to 12 minimum hours guaranteed for part time employees from March through December.
  • Next year, employees will also be able to use a new scheduling mobile application which will allow more flexibility and an easier process to pick up hours and swap shifts.
  • In addition, H&M is proud to offer six weeks of paid parental leave to eligible part time employees.

“We are thrilled to add these new benefits for our part time employees to our already outstanding and competitive package,” said Martino Pessina, President of H&M North America.  “At H&M we believe in people; making sure all of our employees have opportunities for competitive benefits is a commitment we stand by.”

The company goes on to say… “At H&M we believe people are the biggest key to our success and they are what has allowed us to grow the brand in the United States to over 553 stores today, along with our growing ecommerce business.  We truly believe this is the Place of Possible, where every employee is given equal chance to develop not just a job, but a career. “
