Breaking news: Google Testing Job Listings in Search Results

Just saw this via Search Engine Land, a user has spotted some interesting search results for various job queries that indicate Google is going to begin listing jobs directly in a search result page with ability to filter down into the job details.

NOTE: this is new news not about the recent “Google Hire” story.

If I were Indeed which currently holds high ranking for most job queries, I’d be a little worried. This could adversely affect their traffic along with all types of sites from job boards to company career sites. It looks as though they are delivering traffic to the originating site eventually but this bears watching. As SEL indicates they do thousands of these kinds of data tests each year so it remains to be seen what will come of it.
