Mom Relaunch and TechScreen Partner to Help Moms Go Back to Work

PLEASANTON, CALIF. APRIL 10, 2019

Bay Area-based Mom Relaunch is announcing a partnership with Boston-area firm TechScreen to help experienced mothers return to the workforce in IT and HR/Recruiting roles. Diversity and Inclusion programs have become major initiatives for so many tech companies, so this partnership will help accelerate what many firms are already doing.

The two firms have highly complementary capabilities that would help increase the chances of enabling more moms to return to work. Mom Relaunch offers a comprehensive program to ensure that tech companies are getting talent that are ready and relevant. They provide a thorough career assessment to returners and partner with training companies to help women get reacquainted with the skills they used in their previous professional capacities or expose them to new technologies to pick up new talents. Mom Relaunch also provides the opportunity for women to gain hands-on experience with their LaunchPad program that has women working in teams on projects to further fine-tune their technical skills before being placed in jobs.

“Our mission is to help as many moms as we can to return to the workforce so that they may gain financial independence. Our partnership with TechScreen empowers our mission as it gives us the ideal tools to select the most suitable candidates for each role. Companies can also be assured that each candidate is thoroughly vetted to ensure that their skillset best matches the requirements of the role. With our team of skilled moms, we will be able to help tech companies bridge the diversity gap” said Reena Gupta, Founder and CEO of Mom Relaunch.

TechScreen offers a SaaS product that lets a recruiter conduct, score and document a detailed interview of an IT candidate without needing to know the underlying content. Mom Relaunch will use it to validate the technical knowledge of its members so a company would be more willing to interview someone who hasn’t coded in years. Moms pursuing HR/Recruiting roles can use it to acquire new IT interviewing skills.

“So many companies are trying to hire more diverse employees, but there are generally fewer women applying for IT roles nationwide. However, there is a challenge when a job applicant has been out of the workforce for more than two or three years,“ said Mark Knowlton, CEO and Founder of TechScreen. “When a recruiter or hiring manager sees a developer who hasn’t worked in 3-plus years, there is an initial reaction, “Wow, this person hasn’t written Java code in over three years. They are going to be completely out of their depth today.”

“Our partnership will give moms a stronger case to be considered for hire in IT and recruiting roles. We want to help companies fulfill their diversity objectives while being a career catalyst for moms who want to go back to work.” Concluded TechScreen CEO, Mark Knowlton.
