SARASOTA, Fla. — Jackson Hewitt Tax Services announced plans Tuesday to hire 15,000 seasonal workers across the country in preparation for the upcoming tax season.
The recruitment drive officially begins next week with the company’s annual National Hiring Week, starting October 26. The weeklong initiative will feature public hiring events across Jackson Hewitt’s network, offering candidates opportunities for walk-in interviews and potential on-the-spot job offers.
Openings span both full-time and part-time roles at company-owned locations as well as independently operated franchise branches. Available positions include tax preparers, customer service representatives, client support staff, and sales associates.
Gregory Macfarlane, CEO of Jackson Hewitt Tax Services, highlighted the role seasonal staff play in helping filers maximize returns during a critical time of year.
“Behind every successful tax season is a team of knowledgeable people helping hardworking Americans navigate one of their most important financial responsibilities of the year,” Macfarlane said in a statement. “We understand that a tax refund can make a huge difference for families, whether it means catching up on outstanding debt, paying medical bills, or taking a well-deserved vacation.”
For job seekers new to the industry or looking to build technical skills, the company is offering its Fundamentals of Tax Preparation course. The training program—available online, virtually, or in person depending on the location—covers filing basics, dependent rules, self-employment tax, retirement and investment income, and key credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit.
Jackson Hewitt operates more than 5,100 locations nationwide, including roughly 2,600 branches situated inside Walmart stores. Job seekers interested in seasonal openings can apply online at jacksonhewitt.com/careers
