Nick B. a manager for Russell-Tobin recently shared these tips for attracting tech talent via Linkedin. Check it out;
1. For startups trying to compete for talent with Amazon, Facebook, Google, ect….. Hire remote software engineers. Flexibility and remote friendly work environments are the future. This is not only a free benefit to market to talent… it saves you money (office space, meals, ect). If your company is not on board with hiring fully remote developers, try getting one or two days of work from home approved. Your talent pipeline and the quality of talent will go up.
2. Create an incentive program around referrals specifically for tech. Sure your sales people (natural networkers) will build a pipeline of referrals… but getting creative with an incentive around technology is a good idea (send them to a tech conference, give them money to contribute to their favorite open source project, ect).
3. Look to host a meetup around your tech stack or industry, revamp your engineering blog / medium page, host a hackathon, do a marketing campaign around your engineers and interview them about the problems they are solving.
