Q&A with Resume Library

  • What is Resume Library and what makes you unique?

Resume-Library is one of the fastest growing job sites in the U.S., providing award-winning hiring solutions to thousands of staffing agencies and employers every day. As industry-leading experts, we understand the importance of efficient hiring, and we provide services that achieve this.

What’s more, Resume-Library was the first database to aggregate, but not own, resumes. This allows companies to monetize their databases; our Partner Program provides ATSs and career platforms with free, on-demand access to millions of quality resumes for their clients, whilst our Alliance Program helps other job sites earn money by matching resumes to real-time demand.

  • What is the history of the site/company?

Resume-Library was launched in 2013 by founder and CEO, Lee Biggins. Lee is a pioneer in online recruitment technology having established the U.K’s leading independent job board, CV-Library, back in 2000. Over the last couple of years, the team has been focusing on an exciting new business model, which is gaining traction in the U.S.

  • How many resumes do you have and how recent are they?

Over five million resumes have been added to our database in the last 12 months and we receive 300,000 new resumes monthly.

  • Do you offer job advertising opportunities?

We offer a fully branded Featured Job Posting for just $79. For this cost, our clients’ jobs will be shared across all relevant sites in our partner network of 100+ job boards. This increases brand exposure and maximizes the number of top-matched resumes our clients receive, direct to their inbox. We also provide a free Company Profile for companies to showcase their brand, as well as a dedicated Account Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their account.

  • You have roots in the UK, how long have you been targeting the US market and what are some of the differences between the 2 countries and how employers recruit?

We’ve been exploring the U.S. market for over six years and we can safely say that it’s very different to the U.K market! Organizations in the U.K. proactively search for candidates across a wide range of sources, whereas employers in the U.S typically rely on LinkedIn and Applicant Tracking Systems to secure talent. There’s also a lot more data sharing in the U.S., which isn’t common practice in the U.K. due to the challenge of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations).

Despite these differences, there is one key similarity in the U.S and U.K markets: companies are currently struggling to hire. Due to the high levels of employment in both countries, candidate attraction has become more challenging.
