LinkUp Weekly Job Vacancy Data Adds One Last Bit of Bad News To What Was a Miserable Job Market in 2025

We’re a bit behind in getting our weekly job vacancy data posted this week but the massive downward slide in U.S. labor demand since early April continued last week as job openings sourced daily directly from company and employer websites globally dropped 3% from the prior week.

Since the election, labor demand has dropped 19% and and since April 1st, it’s dropped 16%.

Total job openings fell in every state last week while only 2 states saw an increase in new openings.

Labor demand dropped in both manufacturing and services as well as in both blue and white collar jobs.
