Another Week of Weak Jobs Data

A bit late this week, but we want to get our weekly jobs numbers out before tomorrow’s jobs report for December.

For the week ended January 3rd, job vacancies in the U.S. indexed daily directly from company and employer websites globally dropped 3.4%.

The number of job openings in the U.S. has not been this low since the week ending October 10th, 2020.

Labor demand dropped in every state, and new job openings dropped in all but 3 states.

Labor demand fell in both manufacturing and services and for both blue and white collar jobs.
