America’s First National Apprenticeship Recruitment Portal Launches

Franklin Apprenticeships, a U.S. based consulting and capacity building firm dedicated solely to delivering on the promise for U.S. expansion of Apprenticeship Programs, announced today the beta launch of Ask Franklin, the first national apprenticeship recruitment portal of its kind in the U.S. that connects employers, aspiring apprentices, and intermediary training providers.

With an “earn while you learn model” of education and workforce development, Ask Franklin breaks down barriers, fast-tracks careers, and accommodates paths beyond traditional education, to allow students through an apprenticeship to earn a solid income, without debt. At the same time, the new portal allows employers to garner a higher return over time and secure a pipeline of top talent.

“We are excited about releasing our public beta launch of the first apprenticeship recruitment portal in the U.S. because clearly, the rules have changed – college alone is not the only path to success, and college debt definitely does not have to be part of a student’s financial future,” said Kimberly Nichols, CEO and Co-Founder at Franklin Apprenticeships. “Essentially, by accessing the features of the portal, both employers and individuals can challenge the status quo to create a more profitable future for all involved. We have plans for the official product launch later this year. By releasing our beta version, we can gather feedback, and gain awareness.”

Already employers across the globe are facing the most acute talent shortage since the recession in 2007. According to Manpower Group, of the more than 42,000 employers surveyed, 40 percent said they are experiencing difficulty filling roles.

However, many young adults have skills that can be developed through apprenticeships to fill these roles in such fields as IT, Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics and Professional Services. With Ask Franklin, it’s easy for employers and candidates to connect, which ultimately, will help to revitalize America’s higher education, training, and recruitment systems.
