ASA Issue Paper on the Risk of Misclassifying Education Workers

Staffing firms should be aware of the risks associated with misclassifying workers as independent contractors, an issue ASA has asked federal and state regulators to address. Virtually every segment of the staffing industry has been affected, especially in the health care and industrial sectors.

The ASA legal team has released an issue paper covering the growing use of 1099 workers in the education sector. ASA members can access the paper, “Risks of Misclassifying Education Workers,” below.
