Keyword Ideas for Any Job Description

keywords in job postings

Have you paid attention to the keywords in your job posting lately? Did you know you might be missing out on chances to make them appear higher on job boards and other search engines?

Well have no fear, the job description doctor is here!

If you want to make it easier for candidates to find your jobs first follow these simple tips to improve your job’s chances of being seen.

First examine the job description and see where it makes sense to replace a generic word with a more descriptive one. For example instead of say things like “the successful candidate will be responsible for…”, say, “the Sales manager is responsible for…”. That gives your job additional keyword density.

Additional ways to improve its ranking include:

Abbreviations – if you posted a job for registered nurse be sure to also include acronyms like RN as well.

Industry-specific phrases – backend/back-office, mobile/smartphone, social media/social networks, etc.

Alternate titles – if you have a job titled ‘Internet Sales Specialist’ post a second job called ‘Web Sales Specialist’.

These tips, used consistently will help drive more views to your job. Good luck job posters!
