Healthcare and Finance Jobs Lead in Longest Time to Fill

time to hire trends

If you are responsible for recruiting you probably already know this, but it’s getting harder to hire.

According to DHI Group, the percentage of jobs waiting to be filled is at an 8 year high. Healthcare and Finance roles are the two hardest sectors to fill according to recent data complied by DHI’s Hiring Indicators division.

DHI data shows that the time it takes to fill open positions has been on the rise in most industries, suggesting increased competition for top-flight workers.

All of this is not good news for those employers who are still struggling to hire. They will continually scramble to backfill positions. They will have to advertise more heavily and they will have to burden an already overworked recruiting staff.

Truly, these are the times that try HR souls.
