New Jersey Enacts Law to Charge Employers for Workers on Medicaid

As part of its FY 2027 budget, New Jersey enacted A. 5324 into law, which charges large employers a fee when their workers rely on Medicaid for health coverage. Employers with 50 or more Medicaid-covered employees are charged an annual per-person fee for each employee and dependent enrolled in NJ FamilyCare. The fee is either $325, $525 or $725, depending on the size of the company.
