EEOC Proposes Abolishing EEO-1 Reporting

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has proposed eliminating its long-standing collection of workplace demographic data, a program in place for 60 years under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. The proposal, which is undergoing White House review, would end the annual federal EEO-1 reports on race, sex, and national origin data from private employers with 100 or more employees and certain federal contractors.

The proposal would also eliminate demographic reporting requirements
