Every month, about one-in-forty Indeed users with an uploaded resume switches into a new job, and almost two-thirds of them switch to a new occupational category, according to a Hiring Lab analysis of tens of millions of U.S. Indeed user profiles. Understanding which sectors workers come from when they start a role in a given industry — and which industries they tend to join once they leave a given sector — can tell us a lot about how workers build careers and take their skills from one industry to another.
