New York, NY—August 22, 2017— Vervoe, the online hiring assistant for startups and small to medium sized businesses, launched in the U.S. today with a funding round of $1 million.
Co-founded by Australian entrepreneurs Omer Molad and David Weinberg, Vervoe seamlessly automates the interviewing process, allowing candidates to show their skills and style through online simulations. The pair developed Vervoe in response to their own frustrations with outdated hiring processes and models. Vervoe is designed to bring fairness and speed to the hiring process by replacing traditional interviews with on-the-job tasks created by experts.
Targeted at small to medium sized businesses without a human resources department or recruiter, Vervoe’s goal is to enable companies to fill a position within a few days, instead of expending resources over multiple weeks. As a Co-founder and CEO at Vervoe, Omer promotes Vervoe’s mission, leads the company’s strategy alongside co-founder David Weinberg, and is responsible for customers, capital and people. Prior to co-founding Vervoe with David, Omer led a corporate finance solutions team of 25 people at National Australia Bank, led an international emergency response program at Red Cross, and served as a platoon commander in Israel’s Defence Forces.

As a Co-founder, Executive Director and CTO at Vervoe, David drives Vervoe’s innovation, leads the company’s strategy alongside co-founder Omer Molad, and is responsible for product development and technology. Prior to co-founding Vervoe with Omer, David was the Principal Architect for Australia’s Department of Defence, and worked for Juniper Networks in Silicon Valley as a Distinguished Engineer in the CTO Office, and as a Director of Corporate Strategy.
As well as recruiting for highly technical roles at large corporations, David knows what it’s like to run a small business. At one stage he built a tiny bakery into one of Australia’s leading suppliers of wholesale cakes, supplying most of the major national and international airlines and hospitals. David Holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science. David lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife Sim, young son Harvey and Boston Terrier Billie.
