Employee Engagement Isn’t a One and Done Activity

I’ve written about employee engagement quite a bit over the years. At this point, I think we all know it’s important and companies need to focus on it. But it’s also important to understanding that engagement isn’t necessarily the goal.

What I mean by that is the goal should be what engagement creates. Research shows us that:

Organizations with a high level of engagement report 22 percent higher productivity. Almost 60 percent of engaged employees say their job “brings out their most creative ideas.” Organizations in the top quartile in employee engagement outperformed the bottom-quartile in profitability by 22
