Canada’s employment rose by 30,200 jobs in April from March, according to the ADP Canada National Employment Report. The March total of jobs added was revised up to 59,300 from 42,800.
“Canada experienced strong job growth across most industries in the month of April,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, VP and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “Top performers were professional and business services, trade and manufacturing but overall we saw solid gains across all industries except for leisure and hospitality.”
In the goods-producing sector, manufacturing jobs increased by 5,400; construction jobs rose by 2,600; and natural resources and mining jobs increased by 800.
